Midwife - Pregnancy Fitness to Fly Note
Are you 28 weeks+ on your return flight? Then you need a letter confirming that you are fit to fly
Service Description
The rules of flying when you are pregnant vary with each airline, so please read YOUR airline's policy very carefully. If you are 28 weeks pregnant or more on your return flight, most airlines will only let you fly if you provide an official 'fit-to-fly' letter. Most airlines also have a cut off point and will not let you fly if you have reached a certain gestation before your return flight. This is often from 34 weeks, but some airlines let you fly until 36+6 weeks. - Again read YOUR airline's policy very carefully - ( Note: the cut off can be earlier if you are carrying more than one baby) The required fit-to-fly letter needs to have been signed within a certain timeframe before your flight - (usually anywhere between 7 and 14 days before departure) To clarify - some airlines require that the fit-to-fly letter has been signed within a week, some airlines within 2 weekss - Again, check carefully with YOUR airline The fit to fly letter for pregnancy fitness must be provided by a registerd GP, Midwife, or Obstetrician that has assessed you, and your pregnancy. The Medical professional signing your letter must be registered with either: The NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council) or The GMC (General Medical Council) - Your will be able to check that they are genuine because they will give their NMC or GMC number, and will be registered on the appropriate register. My NMC No. is 99D0428E - feel free to check Please note that if your condition changes after the letter is signed - it is your responsibility to be reassessed by a maternity professional and seek a new fit-to-fly letter. Please note: You are purchasing a professional assessment of your 'fitness to fly' with regard to your pregnancy from a registered midwife. Your fitness to fly is not guaranteed - If you have issues in your pregnancy that I consider to be a risk factor for being on a flight, I may assess you as 'not fit to fly' - If this is the case - you are welcome to seek a second opinion, however, you will not receive a refund, you are paying for a professional assessment of your pregnancy health, not a guaranteed fitness-to-fly letter. Note: you will be required to show me proof of identitiy, your maternity records, scan results and answer some personal health questions to enable me to make my assessment. Please answer the pre-purchase questionnaire truthfully to the best of your ability. Assessments are in the strictest confidence and will not be shared. Kind Regards, Paris
